What we collect
When you send an enquiry through the form, we receive the details you enter:
- name, email address and phone number
- whether the enquiry is private or for a company, and the company name if given
- preferred date, departure time, number of guests and type of cruise
- your message, for example about the occasion or allergies
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you give us there.
Please don't share more health information than necessary. We only use information about allergies to adapt the food on board.
Why we use it
We use the information to answer your enquiry, send a quote, plan and run the cruise, and invoice. The legal basis is that the processing is necessary to enter into and perform an agreement with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
We do not use the details from your enquiry for marketing unless you tick the newsletter box. We never sell any information.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter (at the bottom of each page or in the enquiry form), we keep your email address to send you news and offers from MS Cacus. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or by emailing post@cacus.no, and we will remove your address from the list.
Who has access
Enquiries are sent by email to post@cacus.no and are only read by the people who work with MS Cacus. The website and email are hosted by our web hosting provider, which processes the data on our behalf. We do not share the information with anyone else unless required by law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted when no longer needed, and after 12 months at the latest. For bookings, we keep the information for as long as the agreement lasts, and accounting records for as long as the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act requires (normally five years).
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies unless you say yes. The fonts are served from our own server. Like all websites, the web server keeps technical logs (including IP address and time) for operation and security.
When you visit, we ask whether you accept cookies from Google. If you accept, we use Google Analytics to measure visits and Google Ads to measure which ads lead to enquiries. Google (Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC) then receives information such as your IP address, browser details and the pages you visit, and may transfer data to the USA under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
If you decline, no Google code is loaded. Your choice is stored in your browser, and you can change it at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
Links to other websites, such as Oslo Fjordways, Instagram, Facebook and the map on OpenStreetMap, are covered by those websites' own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object to the processing or ask to receive a copy of your data. Email post@cacus.no and we will reply within 30 days.
If you believe we are handling your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
